The Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians are dedicated to preserving the tribal history, language, and cultural identity. To a great extent, the River Rock Casino helps support that goal.
The Casino Office Building and Employee Dining Room was architecturally designed by Axia Architects. 15000 Inc. was engaged to design the associated HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
The HVAC system included a mixture of packaged rooftop units, kitchen make-up air and grease exhaust systems. In addition, individual office zoning was provided with variable refrigerant flow, heating and cooling ceiling cassettes. The system employs an integrated heat recovery function. These marvels of modern technology provide precise room temperature control at efficiencies unachievable by any other system means.
The complex kitchen required a separate grease waste system and grease interceptor. Propane gas was provided for the kitchen cooking equipment, domestic hot water and the building heating systems.
The new office building and dining facility provides a quiet respite for the employees and management of the River Rock Casino. Our inside source at the Casino has told us the food served to the employees in the dining room is 5-star quality!
The Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians is one of more than 20 independent communities that comprise the Pomo people. Ancestors of the Pomo people lived in the area of Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake Counties thousands of years ago. Descendants of the early Pomo people continue as a Tribe in the Alexander Valley, and today are known as the Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians. Official recognition of the Tribe as a sovereign nation occurred in 1915, when the federal government created the Dry Creek Rancheria and named the Tribe the Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians.
